Com viatjar en cotxe amb gats

Els gats són els reis de la casa, són animals molt territorials als que no els agrada que els treguin del seu entorn, i encara menys, que els pugin en un cotxe.

Treure un gat del seu entorn pot resultar una mica estressant. És per això que, si es tracta d’un viatge d’un o dos dies, podries plantejar-te si realment val la pena fer-li passar aquest tràngol. Si és una estada més gran, el que podem fer és que poc a poc vagi coneixent què és això d’anar en cotxe.

 

1. Preparar el transportí

Tot i que per seguretat, no és la opció més recomanada, els gossos poden anar engantxats en un cinturó de darrere del cotxe. En el cas dels gats, a excepció d’algun cas molt extrany, el transportí els ajuda a sentir-se protegits i més segurs. Busca un transportí gran, com a mínim ha de poder moure’s i donar la volta al seu interior. Tingues en compte on el col·locaràs: al terra darrere els seients (per evitar que es mogui), o en un seient engantxat amb el cinturó. Ha de ser un lloc ventilat (però que no li dongui el fluxe del’aire directament) i que no es mogui en cas de frenades brusques.

Un parell de dies abans d’agafar el cotxe posa-hi alguna de les seves joguins a dins, una de les seves mantes o alguna altra cosa que li agradi molt. Deixa que interactuï amb ell, d’aquesta manera s’anirà habituant i el dia del viatge tot li resultarà més familiar.

2. Prepara el calaix de sorra

Si el que tens és molt gran, pots fabricar-ne un amb cartró. Si no tens espai suficient, posa-hi un empapador per evitar sorpreses i mantenir el seu lloc net.

3. No li donis de menjar dos hores abans del viatge

Per evitar marejos evita donar-li de menjar dos hores abans del viatge.

4. Realitzar parades sense sortir del cotxe

Si es tracta d’un viatge llarg, no oblidis donar-li aigua cada 1-2 hores i deixar que surti del transportí una estona que estiri les potes dins el cotxe. Aprofita per acariciar-lo i mimar-lo.

Durant la parada, si fa calor, no deixis al teu gat tancat al cotxe, ni tan sols a l’ombra, pot pujar la temperatura del vehicle en qüestió de minuts i la temperatura elevata pot provocar-li un cop de calor.

5. Al arribar al destí ofereix-li una mica de menjar

Encara que el principi no li vingui de gust perquè no està habituat al lloc i necessiti investigar, deixa-li una mica de menjar, segur que un cop inspeccionada la zona se’l menjarà.
